Sense Pressa

Marius Long hails from a family of restaurateurs in Paris, where his love for wine was born. He completed a degree in oenology at the University of Beaune before putting his talents to practice, working at vineyards in Burgundy, Sancerre, Latour de France, and finally Hautes Corbières - a dramatic wine growing region tucked between the foothills of the Pyrenées and the Mediterranean. Before establishing his own domaine in the region, Marius gained valuable local experience with stints at the well-regarded Domaine de Mena and at the now legendary Mazière. He now farms his own small plots around the villages of Padern and Cucugnan, much like his ancestral predecessors who long worked the vertiginous hills in the area before industrial viticulture more recently brought wine growing into the flatter valley areas. He works almost exclusively with red varieties: Grenache, Syrah, Carignan, and Cinsault, producing pure and energetic zero/zero cuvées without any additions. He maintains a small cellar in the basement of his home and another in an old farming shed nearby. Total production usually measures under 10,000 bottles making this small domaine one to buy when you see it!
